Happy Day #31

I don't know why I haven't blogged the past few days. I have lots of great pictures to show :)

June 24th was Braxton's graduation, he looked so handsome and felt so great  :) We are all so proud of him, he was awarded the Citizenship Award. He was also given a special award from his teacher for being a positive influence and having a great attitude.

I volunteered to make cupcakes for the graduation at the other kids school, so I made a double batch and we had some at home to enjoy for Braxton's celebration. We are going to go out for appetizers on Saturday night to celebrate some more :)

All of the kids had an amazing school year and I am bursting with pride. I'm so impressed with all the hard work and Brooklyn really found her way this year :) she has an 80% average and that is a HUGE deal ! She always puts forth her best effort and it is great to see her succeed once again.

Noah rocked grade 1 and is looking forward to grade 2 in the fall. I'm confident that he will do well again :) he had all A's and B's on his report card and is a natural leader in his class.

First Day of School Sept 2013
Last Day of school June 2014

I need to include Makayla's achievements this year :) She had a great year and an amazing Prom. She realized late in the game that she actually  needs one more credit to graduate !! She was planning on going back next year for a victory lap regardless , but she will miss out on walking the stage with her peers. :(  Nothing can change that now, but moving forward Makayla got an 98% on one of her final exams  and that is something to celebrate :) Bring on Summer, we are ready to enjoy!

Happy Day # 30

I'm going to make a random rag quilt. It is so hard for me to just make a blanket instead of planning, thinking  , rearranging ect. I just can't help myself. I am going to make a rag quilt out of strips of fabric (not squares) and I'm using blue, yellow , green strips, all the strips have patterns on them .

These are some of the strips :) see totally random :)
 I can't wait to get started :)
I'm not even sure how big it will be :)

Working on random over  here :)

Happy Day # 29

I swear my cat Missy needs her own blog , she is so funny and amuses us to no end. I'm not the crazy cat lady if I only have one cat right?

The other day Noah decided to put together an old puzzle that we borrowed from friends :)
This was Missy watching Noah put the puzzle together,
Noah finished the puzzle. We went out and when we came home..... This is what we found :/

When Noah started yelling at Missy she proceeded to lay on the broken puzzle and mouth off :(
I'm sure she thought she looked like this pretty cute innocent kitty but not so much.
or maybe she thought she was looking like the ever tolerant kitty, again not so much.

Oh Missy you are so lucky you make us all laugh. You are so sassy and cute and cuddly only when you want to be. You are the greatest at catching flies, and feet, and hair and hands.

Happy Day # 27

Spent the day today basically waiting for a HUGE storm to come. The lawn got mowed, the toys and bikes were put in the shed. The kids came home from school and we told them not to take all the things out again. Because you know we were waiting on a storm.

No storm happening here.

we waited
 and waited
and waited some more while looking out the front door :)
This guy with the most gorgeous deep dark chocolate brown eyes went to sleep happy that we didn't get a storm. He enjoyed the waiting part :) sweet dreams Noah.

Happy Day # 26

No pictures of Happy today. :( feeling kinda sad. It's Father's Day and I miss my Mom. :) My Brother and I always celebrated our Mom on father's day. She took on both roles. I remember rolling my eyes when my Mom would put hockey games on, or take us to the Garden's for hockey. Fishing and checking the oil in the car, My Mom was a Jane of all trades. She had an awesome bunch  of tools and did most of the fix it jobs.

My Brother was raised by a woman and he is the most compassionate man I know. He is also one of the most manly men I know. My Brother is a great dad, he makes me so proud. I love watching him with his sons :) and his nieces and nephews

My husband has been a Dad for almost 34 years now. I know he has grown and evolved into a wonderful father :) he is strong willed and can argue better then my 18 year old who also happens to be JUST like her Father.

Our little garden is complete and we can't wait to watch it grow :) cucumbers, peppers and tomatoes :)

hopefully tomorrow will come with a picture of our garden :)

Happy Day #25

I know I am horribly inconsistent, I try, I have tons of great idea's for blog posts. They just don't make it to here.

:Last night we had a beautiful HEAVY rain shower. Noah asked if they could go run in it. I said yes, Then he ran around the house peeling off all of his clothes yelling. "SHE SAID YES!!!" I made him put his shorts back on and out they went. Brooklyn and Noah could have showered out there if I had thought to send out some soap. It was raining that hard.

Capturing pictures was hard because of the heavy rain. Here is the one pic that turned out.

Happy Day 24 :)

Today was a great day. 2 of my Amazing kids were awesome!

Braxton participates each year in the Special Olympics, We all look forward to the event each year. Today Braxton won a 1st place ribbon in the relay, he was the anchor and brought the win home for his team mates, He also earned two 5th place and 2 participation ribbons :) He was so proud and so are we,
That pretty RED one is the 1st place ribbon :)
Way to go Braxton!

Our school made a team of boys and girls for Soccer this year. Brooklyn was so excited, she loves all athletics and is such a natural at most everything she does :) lucky girl.
Today was the tournament day and the kids were dropped off at 7:30 this morning and we got home at 5pm. What a long day. They won the C division and that means that they won 4 games in a  row, our team have a banner to display at school and each player received a medal :) so proud of Brooklyn.

This next picture is part of my foot . I had no tan lines before today. This was what my foot looked like when I got home...... Sunscreen would have helped, my arms are awfully red and sore , any suggestions , besides aloe. I can't stand the sticky feel it leaves on my skin.

Happy Day # 23

It was a pretty rainy day today, so nothing got planted in our veggie garden :( Its okay, tomorrow is a PD day and my twin nephews are coming for the day YAY!! They will love helping with the garden :)

We took off to the park after supper and the kids blew off some steam :)

He is so strong! He can go both ways and stop for a picture half way.
 Hello up there!
This seems really dangerous to me. They assured me it was safe :/

While they played I found the prettiest Dandelion . I love dandelions .

And I do actually have 5 kids, but these two are the only two willing to let me take pictures of them :)

Happy Day # 22

Today has been a busy day.

This amazing girl got her first PAYCHECK! :) she took the level 1 referee clinic and has been a ref at the Under 6 games, Today she went to the level 2 clinic so she can also ref the Under 8, 10, 12. She was proud and so am I :)

For supper tonight we decided on Nacho's, they were so good, I meant to take a picture before we dug in, but no one wanted to wait :)

I discovered a great new treat today at Metro, It is the  Iced Mocha, so great tasting and refreshing.

My garden is looking great (ish) We are putting a small vegetable garden at the side of our house. Our backyard doesn't get enough sun, so the side of the house is the only spot that will work.  Noah is VERY excited to take care of our veggies :) beans, cucumbers, tomatoes  are what we plane to grow.

Happy Day # 21

I made it just under the wire for today's post :) Tonight we put some mulch down in our garden. I really don't enjoy gardening ,so I don't really garden at all. Hosta's and plants that don't require any actual help are my favourite kinds.

I made this mosaic stone years ago. Still love it :)
This beast is my miniature Japanese Maple. I will be trimming it tomorrow :)
oh and a lovely pool picture :)

:) not mine, my brother's new home :) I can't wait to spend some time at the new house :)

Happy Day # 20

I have always loved Lilacs. They smell so wonderful. So many childhood memories are filled with the beautiful scent of Lilacs. I don't ever like the artificial scent, candles, room sprays ect. It has to be the real deal. :)

Last year we had to cut down our great big lilac bush in the backyard :( It got sick with some mold and the best way to protect the other tree (silver maple) was to cut my bush down.

good thing I have a small lilac bush in my front garden. It is a miniature bloomerang lilac bush. It blooms numerous times each season and won't get too big and out of control.

A friend of mine posted a pic of her lilacs tonight , just what I needed to see to capture mine :)

Silver maple :) it is a gigantic majestic tree that shades my whole backyard and half of my house. We can't grow grass because the tree makes the yard shady. It is nice and cool in the summer :)

Happy Day # 19

Tonight was soccer and it was team picture night :) I love having the team picture each year. This is Noah's 4th year playing soccer and having a team picture is a great memory :)

Tonight Noah needed the bathroom so Brooklyn ran with him over to the washrooms. As they were running, I noticed that they both have number 11 on their jerseys :) Makes me feel proud and happy. I love the number 11. My birthday is on the 11th !! :)
Brooklyn's jersey is her school volleyball team jersey.

Happy Day 17 & 18 :)

Yesterday and today have not been Happy Days, my heart is heavy and I'm feeling sad. I started looking through my 1000's of pictures to find something to blog about. It seems very fitting that hearts seem to be right where I'm at. I don't anticipate this changing anytime in the near future, but I will be looking for happiness each day.  Please stick around and enjoy the hearts that I've found again today :)
